About the Research

Social Media and Nonprofits: How Nonprofits Develop and Implement Social Media Strategy


This research was conducted by Kailee Missler, a journalism graduate student at Ohio University, as part of her Masters graduation requirement. Public relations engagement literature informs her social media best practices throughout the research and she interviews 10 nonprofit organizations about their current social media strategies.

She hopes more nonprofits are able to develop and implement successful social media strategies to help the visibility of vital services nonprofits provide to the communities they serve.
